We survived!
Quick update: We survived Tropical Storm Faye. The power was out for 36 hours so we moved into Steve's warehouse for the weekend. Upon arriving home, we found minor water damage in the back bedroom closest to the sliding door. The heavy rain created a crack in a few of the cinder blocks which caused the water to seep into the interior wall. We will be replacing the wall, creating a drainage system against the house, and replacing quite a few shingles on the roof. Hurricane insurance does not cover tropical storms! Thank you for all of your prayers! I truly believe we are blessed that we did not loose our home and that no one was hurt!

Oh my goodness, how scary. So glad to hear you and your family are alright and your house is still standing. You have to love insurance...gag me.
we will be with ty's fam for Christmas this year and in AZ for Thanksgiving.:( Maybe next summer.
yeah, prayers help I guess... but what REALLY helped you survive was a good long catch-up conversation with your dear friend in good ol' DRY utah!

Oh good. That is about the stupidest thing ever that your insurance doesn't cover it. What about flood insurance. Wel we are glad you are ok.
